Read My Lips, No New Taxes

What a classic line from a politician. No new taxes. How true it is. They do not tax us with new taxes. They just reinstate the old tax systems.

Geithner, the man who thought he did not have to pay his taxes, is now promising to tax people in the lower tax brackets. Why? Because the rich can't pay for it all.

Think about it. They promised to spend trillions of dollars, and they did not have any plan to pay the money back.

Here is the number one problem with our President. He only has coffee table talking points. He doesn't have a clue about implementation! Why? Because he has never been in a position to make such decisions. And now we are going to have to pay for the foolhardiness of this push for change.

Cash For Clunkers

No new taxes, read my lips. But we will still fund this program with an additional $2 billion. No sweat. We will pay for it with stimulus money or TARP funds or some other tax.

Here is the biggest problem with Cash for Clunkers: it is the same idea that brought the housing market crashing down!

Government stuck its ill-fettered nose into the housing market declaring that everyone should have a house. They made it very easy to get a loan without putting any checks in place to ensure banks that the people could actually pay for the homes. The bubble popped.

Now, let's give money to people to get new cars because everyone deserves a new "cleaner" car. Oh but let's not check too much whether or not people can pay for them. Just wait until this bubble pops (though I hope I am wrong).

The Socialist Car Industry of America has already run out of money, and now they want more for it. Where are the new jobs this plan promised?

Health Care

No new taxes, just read my lips, so you will miss how Congress is hiding the real expenses of the health care debacle as "non-budgetary" items.

Senators and Representatives all over the nation are getting an ear full from constituents. Yet, they still don't get it. They really think we do not care what they do up on Capital Hill. AND RIGHTLY SO!

We keep sending them back thinking that "our Senator or our Representatives isn't a part of the problem." Kathleen Sebelius bit her lip as she almost laughed at a woman in Pennsylvania who was voicing her concern.

What happens if our government does pass this really, really, bad health care plan, and then they run out of money? Will they just print more?

As long as we are silent about the debt driven spending on Capital Hill, we will never get out of debt. It is time for a change.

Cap and Trade

No new taxes, just old ones hidden in new language. I cannot afford $1600 more a month - especially since my wife is part of the teaching core that is getting furloughed (with more dates pending).

Yep, no new taxes. Just different language.
