Christian Voter Values Part 1

The Presence of the Church in America

If there is anything Christians should be more aware of, then it is the way government is trying move Christians to the sidelines in all policy making.

Look at what happened when the "non-profit" status was introduced by President Johnson. The government by doing so, put handcuffs on how a ministry can be involved in politics. It intentionally took measures to keep the church out of politics. Look what has happened to our nations morality since.

Today, liberals are working feverishly to get Christians silenced in all public arenas - school, public meetings, prayer in legislative sessions, the ten commandments, etc.

Since the handcuffing of the church, America's moral values have plummeted. The very foundation of our country's justice system and of the laws we hold so dear was founded on Christian beliefs, and those beliefs are being thrown aside for a relativistic view.

But let put a question to you. Has the church added fuel to the fire of those who oppose Christian values in how we deal with politics? I do not want a nation that forces Christianity on its people. Accepting Christ as a personal Savior is a choice not a mandate.

However, as Christians we are mandated to stand up for principles and morality. We must ensure the protection of marriage, life, and liberty. Freedom was given birth through Christ and to walk away from Him is to walk away from that freedom.

Freedom comes with a price. It means sacrifice and patience. It means some peoples will not agree with each other but that is the beauty of our nation. Common people can have varying ideas and can present those ideas for others to reject or accept.

The church must rise up and vote not with ideals but with the truth. We must speak up about the dangers of sexual immorality, of improper social behaviors, of uneducated children, of mishandling our economy, and more.

So don't get discouraged. Get informed. Vote but do so with prayer and vigilance. Pay attention to what is being said not what is being presented. Listen to the truth because as we should believe, the truth sets us free.
