Super Tuesday Approaches and Winners Are Declared

What has happened to our election process? Seriously, why do some states get to hold early primaries and others get penalized for trying to level the playing field?

Why should any two or three states get the right to determine who gets to represent a party at their respective conventions? I do not see this as how our forefathers would have set it up.

Why not let everyone get one shot. Every state holds their primaries on the same day, no "ifs, ands, or buts". This way the media cannot drive the vote. As the voting goes along today, the media overplays and overevaluates the "current voting trend" until people get an entirely mixed message and the media gets their star pupils.

I think this is a pitiful process and makes our Republic look as if it is controlled by a bunch of baboons (who in the wild probably have a better election system than we do).

Since I am on the subject, why do we have winner takes all states? Florida delegates are given on a majority rules basis. Where is the representation in that? We are not a democracy were the majority rules. We are a republic which governs by established laws.

The same goes for the electoral college. Each electoral vote should count on its own, not winner takes all. If we want to get beyond our "red states and blue states", then why not put an end to winner takes all. We would have a lot less problems. For example, if Georgia is to elect 13 delegates, then each delegate should represent its constituents (even if its 5 for one and 8 for the other - let them have their vote). This is a more representative form of government and closer to what our founding fathers had in mind.

I also believe this could help other parties to have a better chance at becoming voices in the process of governing.

That's my opinion and I am sticking with it.

Huckabee Explains The FairTax

John McCain thought he had Huckabee with his questions but Huckbee has the answer. Tim Russert tried to counter but Huckabee quickly put to bed a myth about the FairTax.

Here is the video:

Do not let them fool you about the taxes you pay. You pay more taxes than you really know.

Katrina Victims Lose Housing Money

The State of Mississippi decided $600 million dollars, earmarked for new housing for Katrina victims, would be better spent on drug infested casinos and new crime bosses. The federal government agreed.

Fiscal responsibility is not a real word in the Republican or Democratic parties. They fail us more everyday as we allow them to maintain too much control over spending. And we want to keep our current tax code why?

Isn't wasteful and unnecessary spending enough to anger Americans? Isn't being afraid of our government enough to motivate us to demand change?

Unrepresented taxation is what angered our forefathers. They say we have representatives now, but do they really represent us or are they enjoying the power too much. What would happen if we could take away the single most powerful tool of every politician?

That tool is our unfair tax system which they use to manipulate people. Just look at the false promises being aired by many of the current presidential hopefuls. "I'll tax the rich more!" " I'll tax the rich and then tax the corporations more!" "I'll cut taxes and make some permanent tax cuts!"

All lies especially about taxing the corporations. Why? Corporations do not pay taxes! They pass taxes along to the consumers. If the Democratic candidates have their way they will single handily crush our economy further by forcing higher prices on us. Why? Corporations will not let their money fall short due to taxes. They will raise prices.

Why? They have to answer to investors. People invest money in corporations because they hope to make money. If a corporation losses money, the people begin looking elsewhere to invest. Do you know what kind of people invest in corporations? Teacher retirement plans, firefighters, police officers, and countless others who hope that what little they are able to invest will not be penalized nor stolen by wrongful taxation!

The government doesn't care about who pays the taxes. They only care about who keeps them in power. And you help them if you let them continue holding us hostage with our current tax system.

We need a change and the only place to make that change known is at the polling station. Vote for a better America. Let's abolish the IRS and the income tax. Let's install the FairTax.

You have the power, and we all can make a difference if we each decide to vote for a better way. We have to do it together, or the poor will still be poor and the government will still be diverting money into the pockets of criminals.

The FairTax Is A Fascinating Piece of Legislation

I am not sure why President Ronald Reagan has become the symbol of conservatism, and yet he has. Talk show hosts seem to have a Reagan litmus test which they use to judge Republican candidates.

I guess it is what works for them. I wonder if the FairTax would have had a chance under Reagan? I like Reagan, from what I can remember of him.

Anyway, I'll keep looking for an answer to that question. Until then, here is an article by the author of the FairTax House Bill 25 - John Linder.

The FairTax is the most fascinating piece of legislation I have ever seen. I hope you will look into it also. Don't let someone else make your decision for you.

The Saturday Primaries Are Here

Today is do or die for many candidates. Too bad they listened to Washington politics and not to the people they were trying to get to vote for them.

You would think they would each take a page out of history and stand for at least one thing. For example, Lincoln set out to help rid our country of a nasty problem - slavery. Lincoln had a 100 to 1 chance of being elected, yet he prevailed because he knew that injustice is injustice. Sure, the president has to have an overall outlook for leading our country, and no, I am not comparing the unfair taxation of our citizens to slavery. But why not stand for one solid principle and get it accomplished?

I think many politicians try to fix too many things at one time. Why not concentrate on one thing at a time and get it done?

So I harp again - the FairTax is a great place to start in fixing many of our economic problems. Is it a perfect answer? No. But it will eliminate the truck load of paperwork and the building that holds the outline for the current tax code with a very reasonable tax.

For those still wanting to know the "FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll based taxes with an integrated approach including:
  • A progressive national retail sales tax.
  • A prebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level.
  • Dollar-for-dollar federal revenue neutrality.
  • Repeal of the 16th Amendment through companion legislation."

Let's take back our government and stop letting politicians dictate to us what we need. Call and email your Representatives and Senators today.

A FairTax Leader?

As the results were posted from the Michigan primaries, I heard several different news agencies speak to different Republican candidates. Each time they mentioned that Gov. Romney had the lead in delegates and had one win and two second place finishes. This was news worthy.

But why did they keep asking candidates about Mike Huckabee? I am serious. Each candidate was asked how they could overcome the presence of Huckabee.

So let me ask, if Romney is in the lead, then why is Huckabee a threat? Could it be that he is making a stronger showing than the media can handle?

I think they need to realize that the FairTax is the most radical piece of change being promoted by any candidate. No matter how many plugs each candidate gets, they all role out the same talking points. Yes, we need national defense. Yes, we need to deal with our immigration policies and problems. Yes, we need to get the federal government out of education. But we all know this. But what about having to deal with taxes and how America's current tax system is choking out our economy? It is the economy stupid.

You can ask any of the candidates if they support the FairTax, and they give you their answers. I want to know why people are not asking if the candidates have themselves looked earnestly at the FairTax? Why not? They are fed by the same unchanging dysfunctional lobbying that panders to the beltway politicians who fear they may have to find a new job.

You can contact the top Republican leaders in the Senate and ask why they have bought into the lobbyist who are trying to silence the FairTax. Will you get an honest answer? I do not know. Will you get a lobby answer? You just may.

The FairTax is the best alternative for our tax problems. No one else is coming up with better solutions. They are suggesting bandages, but how long will those hold before the wounds have to be redressed?

We do not need a fix. We need a change.

Huckabee Has A Chance

There is not any secret to the fact that I now support Huckabee. This is not a Huckabee blog though. I just want someone who will try to be honest with us.

I also want someone who supports getting rid of the IRS and implementing a better tax system.

We cannot get around it. We need a tax system that taxes everyone yet takes the burden off of those who make little income.

So by putting Gov. Huckabee into office, we have a chance to get the FairTax into the political mainstream and a better chance of getting it passed.

If you want the same convoluted, overly complicated, mess of a tax system with a government sanctioned bulldog hounding you all your life, then support someone else.

As for me, get the government off my back, get the government out of my church and beliefs, and give me a simpler tax system.
