I have heard for weeks about the many times Rev Wright has seemingly demonized America. I have heard many people call him un-American. Until I actually listened to the controversial sermon, I could not judge for myself, and I still do not judge him.
Here is the sermon.
All of the clips I have heard from the news media made me believe that all the comments were from several sermons. But all the clips come from just this one sermon? How odd is that?
Again, I am not defending the sermon by Rev. Wright nor am I judging him. That is not my right.
I can say that yes the government does fail. Yes, government officials do lie. Yes, God never fails and is always right on time.
I also can say that if one knows the government fails, then why trust it to grow larger and let it control health care and education? If government fails, what makes anyone believe that government can support those basic wants and not mess them up?
I fear a government that continues to grow at an uncontrollable rate. President Bush has presided over some of the largest growth in government in known US history. Uncontrolled spending happens when the people give away control by allowing the government to pull strings with the taxes we pay every year.
So, instead of passing judgment for ratings, I have two verses I want us to think about:
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
1 Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men. 3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:1-7 (NKJV)
If I have spoken evil against anyone through this blog or any other arena, I apologize.
God belongs in America. We can either choose to recognize Him or we can choose to believe the government is the answer to all our woes. I hope you get the gist of what I am trying to say.
Let's work together to limit our governments growth and increased the power that belongs to the people not our politicians. Small steps can start by supporting the FairTax. Join today.

Senator Clinton is Still Kickin'
So the results of Pennsylvania are in and Senator Clinton wins by 10 points. I have listened to several talk shows and their take on this.
First, Senator Clinton has proven she has a better handle on the more populated states.
Second, Senator Obama cannot close this out even though he has an apparent insurmountable lead.
To get on my soapbox, I still believe that state primaries should all be held on the same day. Dragging this out is only good for the media who gets to exploit the process a little bit longer.
Off my box, I believe that this is still good for the Republican party. If Senator Obama wins, Senator McCain will probably pull this out very easy. I say this because I hope no one really wants the socialist regime that Senator Obama is promising.
If Senator Clinton pulls this off, it could end up damamging her political aspirations because the only way she can win is with the help of the super delegates. Voters will most likely see this as stealing the nominartion and bolt for the other party (whether that is true or not, we may just find out).
She will deal herself a better hand by graciously bowing out after the next primary.
Oh well, the Republican party sits pretty right now and the election season is just getting shorter.

Leadership R Us
When does a leader cease being a leader? When he or she gets elected. Then they become a puppet.
Our elected officials have again failed to provide leadership on a needed issue. President Bush is now giving a speech on global warming, and instead of becoming a leader and finding real answers as to whether global warming is true or not (I am still on the fence because too many real scientist and in-the-know people are coming up and saying the science is wrong).
I do believe we need to become less dependent on oil and should do everything possible to reduce pollution. I believe in conservation and working to care for our environment. These are all Christian values that I hold. I do not, however, want to make a mistake in how we approach the issues. Let's find out the truth instead of blindly going out on a ledge because a bitter politician says the debate is over.
A true leader doesn't get his chain pulled but instead pulls chains. Take Henry Ford for instance. He told his engineers that he wanted a specific type of engine and he would not take no for an answer. For several years his engineers told him it could not be done, yet Ford stood his ground until they made a break through and actually accomplished what he knew could be done all along. That is leadership!
President Bush is bowing down to politics instead of leading. His proposals will probably lead to larger government which he seems all too good at leading us towards.
Another failed leader is former President Jimmy Carter. A man once sworn to uphold our Constitution is now forsaking it and taking foreign policy into his own hands. He is not an ambassador, and someone needs to remind him that he is not the President. I can't believe that he even considering meeting with a known terrorist.
Congress failed the leadership test when it white-washed the bill to protect our borders. Come on, how do you pass something without funding it? Here was the perfect chance for the Congress to pass a needed bill and still be able to show compassion towards our friends in the south who are beneficial to our economy with the many jobs they come and perform among us.
FM 22-100 is the Army's leadership manual. I had to read this as an NCO and still read for great insight. It says that every battle or beginning war will not wait for the units to be prepared. Sometimes you have to fight as you are.
Our elected leaders need to read this over and over. They are more enamored by their limelight than taking the tough stance. Tough fights are hard to prepare for, but leaders can take this task and lead. Any leader that tells you that they know where they are headed, is someone to beware of because they are leading an agenda not a tough fight.
Leaders must take the initiative, make rapid decisions, and motivate others. Leaders know which direction to head and can adjust as they go down that path. Not every decision is a perfect decision but at times are necessary decisions. Leaders know how to see the big picture and how to paint others into that picture.
We need leaders who will take unpopular stances (which President Bush has done at times) when they see the larger picture. We need them to stop giving us fluff and start painting us into the picture.
Leadership is a risk. It is at times very lonely. Leadership will identify one's true character.
I say all this because I really feel that we need a leader who will stand up for the right things instead of just trying to right.
Leaders provide purpose, direction, and motivation. Think about this as you get ready to select your choice for President. Don't be swayed by politics. Get in the know and find out the truth. Elected officials just want to be elected again.
You can start by finding out the truth about the FairTax. You will thank yourself for it.

April 15th - Not Now I'm Busy
If you are like most people, you dread today. I have already filed my taxes and received my returns. And you?
Of course, this would just be another day if we could get the FairTax passed. Millions of Americans are stressing out over their returns today because government officials are very afraid of losing control.
The world elitist or leftist or whatever you wish to call them are counting the days until they can elect a Democratic President to more firmly entrench US citizens (for whom the government is supposed to belong not control) further into a socialist society.
Better answers are out there but our government is not ready to change. Their pockets are getting too full from the big money they send home. Many set up fake organizations that funnel money to other organizations that pay big dollars to keep elected officials in power. A few have become leeches on our society and would spoil our lives just for more power.
Okay, maybe I am ranting a little here. It could be that I am a bitter, gun-loving, faith-filled person. Right Mr. Obama?
Or it could be that I really do love my country enough to see that we are on a slippery slope that leads to quick sand.
There are plenty of answers to help our poor. There are plenty of answers to restore economic aid to our starving economy.
Democrats believe that the answer comes from throwing more money at problems. Their biggest talking point is that "we do not fund that enough." The sad part is that the Republicans are piping the same statements but on different venues.
This is the way I see it:

This is the way I see it:
- We need to care for our national security. We do this by keeping rogue terrorist at bay and equipping and staffing our military so that it can get the job done.
- We need to overhaul our tax system so that our jobs and corporations stop leaving for less tax burdens countries. We do this by passing the FairTax.
- We need to provide for better health care justice so that our doctors are not overburdened with malpractice insurance. We do this by putting caps on frivolous lawsuits, encouraging mediation, and learning that sometimes people err.
- We need to stimulate plans that help the poor to save money with tax free investments that they can use for education, health care, or other immediate needs. We do this by creating a supplement for low cost insurance for those who make a under certain amount per year.
- We need the federal government to get itself out of education. We do this buy eliminating the office of national education and replacing it with an office that only suggests educational guidelines and does not preach its own agenda. It will not have voice in the working of the local systems. Let the local systems govern themselves.
- We need God in America again (enough of this stupid false debate about God not being allowed in government). We do this by understanding that our founding fathers never intended for people to check their faith at the door. We do this by understanding that a ill-informed supreme court justice made a very bad decision when he concocted that God was not appropriate in the schools or other government facilities. We cannot continue if we leave God out of our decisions.
- We need good immigration laws and to be more caring to those who have braved breaking the law just so their families back home can eat through the year. We do this be creating a better way for workers to come and be productive in our society (the FairTax insures that they pay taxes). We do this by giving a one year amnesty to productive members of established aliens. We give others six months to leave before we begin busing them to the border which will be secured completely. Once across the border they will be on their own.
- We need to better care for our country's environmental issues but not at the cost of taking the land of individuals. We can reform our thinking about how environmental issues effect our land, our animals, and our people. We do this by becoming less oil depended. We do this by increasing fines for those who litter and forcing them to work weekends to clean up trash along the highways, streams, and other littered areas. We do this by by understanding good conservation methods and rewarding areas who work hard to provide recycling facilities.

Election Update and Free FairTax Webinar
If you haven't heard, there will be a free FairTax webinar that is sponsored by Comcast.

Democrat's Strategy?
So with the Democratic convention a few months away and the democratic nominee still looking to be Senator Obama, why is Senator Clinton still harking that she will win the nomination?
Barring some miracle from the "super-delegates", Mrs. Clinton does not have a chance. So I speculate for a moment:
Could the democratic party be using this current battle to shorten the election?
Think about it. Right now the democrats do not have to deal with the Republican nominee for President because they are still "debating" their issues. They are effectively keeping their candidate from facing an onslaught from a lengthen election period. How much easier they being on themselves by "airing" their own dirty laundry in an attempt to make it all old news.
This has to be one of the best strategies from the Democrats in a long time. But can it back fire? Are they painting themselves into a corner by not getting their candidate more air time and more in front of the public.
And then again, the democratic party can be so enthralled with trying to present the first woman or African-American candidate that they really are fighting this out and were not that smart in trying to shorten the election period.
I lean to the fact that they want power so much they they will do anything to get it.
Republican Woes
As a Republican voter and a Christian, I am glad that there are Christians who stand up for their faith. I am not, however, all sure that some of our more outspoken leaders are right in how they are attacking John McCain.
Are their things I disagree with him on? Yes. Would I like to see a more conservative candidate? Sure. But until we are more open to a third party, I am going to have to give my support to the one who is chosen (John McCain).
I will now do my best to convince his camp that true change will include tax reform (not tax reworking). I mean real tax reform, such as the FairTax.
I am more afraid of socialized welfare and socialized health-care to let myself be blinded by the beliefs I hold which may differ from those of Senator McCain. I am far more afraid of allowing the federal government to put their hands farther into my pockets.
We should fear a government that wants as much control as the one we now have. It is quickly turning into what our forefathers fought against.
Maybe the Constitution Party has a better plan or even the Libertarians (whom I am less likely to support but would before I could ever support the Democratic party again).

Who will be the VP for McCain
I have heard many names bouncing around for VP. Here is one name I have only heard once:
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison
Why would this name be important? Senator Hutchison has an absolutely fantastic chance of becoming the VP candidate. She also makes the best sense. Americans are ready for a "change" according to the two demonstrative candidates from the democratic party. Well, placing a very qualified and very experienced woman in the number two spot is just the refreshing change that needs to take place.
First, it will get a number of people more prepared for a woman in the future to actually become President. I like to think in terms of baby steps. We have slowly seen women take more prominent positions in our federal government. Though I may not see some of them as people I would place in such positions, they have made woman more accepted in government leadership (Albright, Pelosi, Rice to name a few).
Second, Senator Hutchison is a very capable leader and has made a good name for herself. She is a perpetual Senator from Texas, one of the largest states in the Union.
Third, she has a good background in banking and finance. She was also a business owner.
Besides, I have it on good knowledge, that she may be on the short list. Watch for her in the future.
