FCC and Time

I don't think you can ever put a government organization and time together and have it mean anything. I recently posted about the indecent showing of the cartoon Family Guy. It was immoral to say the least.

The Family Guy could be a very funny and enjoyable show (without the horse licking, kid beating his mother, etc...). It could be an intelligent comedy without the coarse and inane violence and sexual immorality. I would love to support a cartoon for adults that doesn't push sinful social agendas and still call itself programming for children.

The sad part is that many of the adults and youth watching this show call themselves - "don't tell me what to do in my own home" - Christians. Did you know that most households don't feel the peace of God because they fill their minds with things against peace? Why do people wonder where God is when they have unhealthy images floating through their minds? They cannot hear or see the things of God because God doesn't have any room in their lives except for the hour they spend in church in Sunday:

Anyway, I emailed the FCC and here is the timely reply (I sent them the report in March) they sent:

Your views and concerns about program material are important to us. The Commission will review what you have submitted carefully to determine whether it contains sufficient information to suggest that there has been a violation of the obscenity, indecency or profanity laws. If it appears that a violation may have occurred, the Enforcement Bureau will start an investigation, which may include a letter of inquiry to the broadcast station. Notice that I am just a consumer, not a tax paying citizen who cares about decency in programming. Of course, I have probably been reported to the DHS for actually standing up against something. So the FCC is going to see if I am legit first, then they will check and see if the show was "bad", then they will send a letter, and finally they will investigate through the investigation bureau.....Oh well, I tried, and so can you!

Your Government Protectionist at Work

The American Family Association does not clarify that heterosexuality is normal in this list. Left undefined, many people will try to use this bill to justify any immoral sexual act. The list given is a list of all "sexual orientations" that can be classified as "protected" in the Hate Crimes bill.

From the AFA:

The Hate Crime law, S.909 (and HR1913), will make 30 sexual orientations federally-protected. The American Psychiatric Association (APA) has published 30 such sexual orientations that, because of Congress's refusal to define "sexual orientation," will be protected under this legislation. These 30 orientations are listed in the APA's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV), which is used by physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and psychiatrists throughout the U.S. It is considered the dictionary of mental disorders. Those 30 sexual orientations include behaviors that are felonies or misdemeanors in most states.

Among those sexual orientations being protected by S.909 (and HR1913) are these:

Apotemnophilia - sexual arousal associated with the stump(s) of an Amputee
Asphyxophilia - sexual gratification derived from activities that involve oxygen deprivation through hanging, strangulation, or other means
Autogynephilia - the sexual arousal of a man by his own perception of himself as a woman or dressed as a woman
Bisexual - the capacity to feel erotic attraction toward, or to engage in sexual interaction with, both males and females
Coprophilia - sexual arousal associated with feces
Exhibitionism - the act of exposing one’s genitals to an unwilling observer to obtain sexual gratification
Fetishism/Sexual Fetishism - obtaining sexual excitement primarily or exclusively from an inanimate object or a particular part of the body
Frotteurism - approaching an unknown woman from the rear and pressing or rubbing the penis against her buttocks
Heterosexuality - the universal norm of sexuality with those of the opposite sex
Homosexual/Gay/Lesbian - people who form sexual relationships primarily or exclusively with members of their own gender
Gender Identity Disorder - a strong and persistent cross-gender identification, which is the desire to be, or the insistence that one is, or the other sex, "along with" persistent discomfort about one’s assigned sex or a sense of the inappropriateness in the gender role of that sex
Gerontosexuality - distinct preference for sexual relationships primarily or exclusively with an elderly partner
Incest - sex with a sibling or parent
Kleptophilia - obtaining sexual excitement from stealing
Klismaphilia - erotic pleasure derived from enemas
Necrophilia - sexual arousal and/or activity with a corpse
Partialism - A fetish in which a person is sexually attracted to a specific body part exclusive of the person
Pedophilia - Sexual activity with a prepubescent child (generally age 13 years or younger). The individual with pedophilia must be age 16 years or older and at least 5 years older than the child. For individuals in late adolescence with pedophilia, no precise age difference is specified, and clinical judgment must be used; both the sexual maturity of the child and the age difference must be taken into account; the adult may be sexually attracted to opposite sex, same sex, or prefer either
Prostitution - the act or practice of offering sexual stimulation or intercourse for money
Sexual Masochism - obtaining sexual gratification by being subjected to pain or humiliation
Sexual Sadism - the intentional infliction of pain or humiliation on another person in order to achieve sexual excitement
Telephone Scatalogia - sexual arousal associated with making or receiving obscene phone calls
Toucherism - characterized by a strong desire to touch the breast or genitals of an unknown woman without her consent; often occurs in conjunction with other paraphilia
Transgenderism - an umbrella term referring to and/or covering transvestitism, drag queen/king, and transsexualism
Transsexual - a person whose gender identity is different from his or her anatomical gender
Transvestite - a person who is sexually stimulated or gratified by wearing the clothes of the other gender
Transvestic Fetishism - intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving cross-dressing
Urophilia - sexual arousal associated with urine
Voyeurism - obtaining sexual arousal by observing people without their consent when they are undressed or engaged in sexual activity
Zoophilia/Bestiality - engaging in sexual activity with animals

To protect a "sexual orientation" under S.909 (and HR1913) - while leaving that term undefined -- is to protect this whole range of bizarre sexual behaviors. It is to normalize by federal law what are still considered to be mental disorders (paraphilias) by the American Psychiatric Association.

They Do Hire In Tough Times

I do not know about you, but I am constantly saddened by the job losses throughout the United States. I am saddened by the continued loss of jobs, but I am not disheartened.

Here is why: According to the Department of Labor there were nearly 3 million openings in the United States in February (most recent data). If you have just lost you job or if you are one of the 6.3 million without a job, then this may not seem very comforting. But I want to give you a little hope. Someone is obviously hiring. Job growth may not be what it was five years ago, but there are still jobs being opened.

How Can I Get These Jobs?

First, research. Find out where the jobs are, if you are on the right job hunt, and how to get the right education for that job.

Second, re-educate yourself if necessary. Take advantage of online courses to better your knowledge and career choice opportunities. Get into your local technical school or take part time jobs until you find that job you want.

Third, search for a job as if searching for your job was a full time job. Respectfully hound the personnel directors and heads of departments until you have connected with enough people to have created your own career search network.

Fourth, pray. This should be included in every step. Let God be God; He is always looking to be our Provider, so let Him.

Don't let the negative news about unemployment get you down. I absolutely hate it when they only report job loss and not job creation. The hopeless media outlets can discourage the most optimistic of people.

Do your own research and trust God - there is hope!

Becoming More Positive

How does one become more positive and filled with hope while the media pours death and terror and downfall across the airwaves? How can I project hope when our government is so negative about everything?

I have been thinking about Dave Ramsey's Townhall for Hope. Maybe this is why I have not been blogging in the past week. Not that I do not have anything to say, just that I don't want to be a parrot nor do I want to give a false sense of reality.

Yes, things are tough. But even more importantly, this is America, and we have overcome worse!

There I said it, and I mean it.

Here's some hope:

Spiritual Hope

• Let's remain true to the Judeo-Christian heritage of our nation.
• Let's return prayer to the public places.
• Let's put the study of the Bible back into our local schools.
• Let's teach ethics to our students that embrace Judeo-Christian principles.

Why? Judeo-Christian values are supposed to build up people while showing love to all. Our values are supposed to reflect the heart of Christ:

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."Luke 4:18-19 (NIV)

And then He commissioned us all to:

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'Matthew 25:37-40 (NIV)

By teaching and reinforcing our heritage, our nation becomes safer and more tolerant. We do not have to pass laws to Christianize the nation if we as Christians are free to exercise our faith and if we will exercise our faith as laid out by Christ.

Government Hope

• Let's demand less federal government.
• Let's recognize the rights of each state which are being trampled by the federal government which is overstepping its bounds. The federal government has become too overbearing.
• Let's demand a better balance of government and stop allowing the president to usurp powers not granted to him.
  
• Let's stop electing Senators and start appointing them once again so they will once again focus on representing their states.

Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.Romans 13:1-5 (NLT)

Our representative form of government allows us to make changes and to remove those whom we believe are not best representing our interests. This should generate respect for those who serve in our government because we are the ones who put them there.

If we are doing what is right, we have nothing to fear. But notice that God's design for government is to punish those who are doing wrong, not to make up rules that make the innocent guilty also. So as active citizens we should demand that our government be held to the standards laid out in the Constitution.

Fiscal Hope

• Let's repeal the stimulus package, the TARP package, and any other government incentive into the private marketplace. How's that hope? My grandchildren will not have to pay for our miserable mistakes. That's hope for them!
• Let's repeal the 16th amendment, disband the IRS, and pass the FairTax amendment.
• Let's demand fiscal conservatism and less government.
• Let's get our states to implement financial education into their curriculum in order to curb this insatiable lust for overspending and failed financial policies. Plus, it will give people a better advantage in how they purchase goods and save for their retirement.

Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority. Romans 13:6-7 (NLT)

The great thing about this verse is that we are encouraged to "pay" our taxes - not have money siphoned from us by the government! This is why we need the FairTax, so we can pay our taxes more honorably than having people yank our teeth out by the root.

I am going to think about some other forms of real hope for America. I am going to work hard at remaining more positive. I am also going to try to be less critical of people and more analytical in my critique of policy by providing alternative answers to key issues.

Kathleen Sebelius Is Too Controversial For Position

I am a right to life person. I don't agree with those who believe it is a right to get an abortion. But I also believe that the federal government does not have any jurisdiction over abortion. I believe this is one of those state by state areas. Each state should have the right to decide for or against abortion.

I wholeheartedly believe the United States Supreme Court overstepped its bounds when dealing with this subject. The Roe v. Wade decision is just another example of the Supreme Court making laws instead qualifying them in light of the Consitution.

Kathleen Sebelius has demonstrated that she is heavy into lobby support and has readily accepted funding from abortion doctors in her run for governor. She has already shown that as the abortion money comes in she votes in support the money (see the video below for more information). Her integrity has also been questioned for tax issues (another one of President Obama's tax flunkies).

Politics as Usual Violating Senate Ethics

Senator Feinstein has decided that making money through the backdoor is more important than our economy. She decided to introduce legislation that would move $25 Billion into the FDIC for spending on their special projects. Okay, so this on the surface looks normal. But.....yes, there is a but....

Senator Feinstein's husband is the board chairman of a real estate company that just received a substantial contract with the FDIC. Again politics as usual, and a clear violation of Senate ethics statutes. Even more fishy is that Senator Feinstein is acting in an area that she is not responsible for. She is not on the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs which controls funding for the FDIC. [source]

Come Congress, how can you ignore this? How does the media ignore this? Is the golden girl from the Golden State going to get away with this? Maybe so since so many more politicians seem to dip into the same pot. You know they don't become millionaires just by being in Congress. Funny thing how their spouses become millionaires though.....
